Music in Action asks: At what age did you start performing and how did you start?

I started performing from a very young age, after singing ‘You are my sunshine’ in my pushchair on holiday at 2 years old, my parents knew they had to get me into stage school classes!! I played my first role in my youth group as Annie when I was 10!

Music in Action asks: How did you feel after being chosen to playing Elphaba in the UK tour of Wicked?

The call came completely out of the blue, It was something I had my eye on, but I never dreamed I would be offered like I was. It was an honour and a privilege to be able to take Elphaba out on the road.

Music in Action asks: What do you enjoy the most about performing and what was your favourite performance?

I just love sharing music and words with an audience, and feeling the energy from them!

I absolutely loved performing on the BBC’s Big Night of Musicals as Elphaba, I’ll never forget the electricity that came from the crowd.

Music in Action asks: Why does Music Matter to you?

Music is a gift, the emotions it can make you feel is unmatched. You feel happy, you play happy music, you feel sad, you play sad music to sit in it, or happy music to pull you out of it. It’s so powerful.

Music in Action asks: Who have been your biggest influences?

Cliche as an Elphaba, but I was such a huge fan of Idina Menzel, and wanted to grow up to be just like her!

Music in Action asks: What is your favourite place on earth?

Do you know what… if I could spend more time here it could be Jersey… I think it’s so beautiful, the people are so lovely!! But other than that, home.

Finally, what can we expect next from you?

Who knows, at the moment I’m just enjoying singing, and gigging, but you never know what’s round the corner!
