Lucy Crowe - Celebrity Song Recital

An exquisite and ravishing song recital with international opera star Lucy Crowe and pianist Anna Tilbrook performing songs around themes of islands, love, water and tempest.

The programme opens with music by great composers - Thomas Arne's O Ravishing Delight and arias by Handel. A set of dramatic and beautiful Schubert songs - including Auf dem Wasser, Auf dem See, An den Mond, Nacht und Traume is followed by masterpieces by Richard Strauss including Nichts, Stanchen, and Morgen.

The second half opens with a set of songs by Benjamin Britten called On this island before the second half takes flight with folksongs including The Lark in the Clear Air, She moved thro' the fair, Ivor Gurney's Sleep, Ralph Vaughan Williams - The House of Life and Silent Noon before finishing with Ivor Novello's classic "We'll gather lilacs".

This remarkable programme is sung by charismatic soprano Lucy Crowe who is a regular at the great opera houses around the world from La Scala to the Metropolitan New York and of course the Royal Opera House. She has made countless recordings which are the pick of all interpretations and performs with the finest orchestras from the Berlin Philharmonic to the London Symphony Orchestra.
