A spectacular Liberation Day celebration at the Jersey Opera House with the famous players of the Philharmonia Orchestra, directed by the internationally acclaimed violinist Harriet Mackenzie, take you on a vibrant musical journey blending old and new with an exciting Latin American twist. Be knocked out by a new tango concerto and Winter from the Four Seasons of Buenos Aires before classic wartime songs. Two shows will take place from 5.30pm-6.30pm and 8pm-9pm.
The programme features Mozart’s lively Divertimento in F, the world premiere of Ariel Pirotti’s fiery Tango Concerto written for Liberation Day, and a medley of wartime songs, including I’ll Be Seeing You, and Roll out the Barrel to capture the spirit of Liberation Day sung by Georgia Mae-Bishop.
All proceeds support Music in Action’s charitable work for the island.
